Extract from a newsletter from CAP October 2020

2020 has been a year of change where we have had to adapt the way that we present our debt management plan to our clients. We have moved from meeting our clients in their homes to now carrying appointments out over the phone and through the internet. However we haven’t lost that face to face connection…

During this time of the pandemic we have given out more food bank vouchers, food bank parcels, fresh food shops and other essential items than ever before. And not just to current clients. We have had many ex clients and others in our local community who have sort our help at this time.

One client Denise who was having suicidal thoughts was blessed with paint for her bedroom and bedding plants, which helped lift her mood. Denise commented ‘I know God has a plan for my life’.

Another client Sandra who benefited from a number of fresh food shops had a bracelet returned from a local pawn brokers because we were able to pay the outstanding balance. The bracelet was purchased by her son. Sandra had recently asked God for a sign and he gave her one which reassured her faith and belief in Him.

Client Helen was sending her 10 year old daughter to school in her black adult cardigan when the school uniform colour is red. After an email was sent out to our CAP prayer supporters several hundred pounds came in which meant Helen was able to by brand new uniform and footwear for both her girls and then top up with a fresh food shop.

This is just the tip of the iceberg with regards to the many client stories that have been pouring in.
